Composite Dental Bonding

Composite bonding is a technique used to restore or improve the appearance of a tooth. One of the most effective uses of composite bonding is to place tooth colored fillings in a tooth that has decayed. Bonding procedures can also be done on slightly broken, chipped or discolored teeth. This procedure usually requires minimal anesthetic. A tooth-colored composite material is painted onto the surface of the tooth, shaped to match the patient’s adjacent teeth, hardened with a high intensity light, and polished. Composite bonding allows us to achieve a beautifully refinished smile in just one office visit. Bonding does have limitations and can chip and stain.
