Dental Sealants

What are dental sealants?

A dental sealant is a thin layer of plastic that is applied to and coats the deep grooves of the molar. This thin layer of plastic will prevent decay from developing in the grooves where cavities are most likely to form. The sealant will protect the tooth for many years! We recommend putting a sealant on children and teenagers who are more likely to develop cavities.
